Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry (QCF)
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 31 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 22 contact hours (3 days) if self-study is undertaken.
This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to apply for a license from the SIA to work as a CCTV Operator. It is based on the relevant SIA specifications and supported by Skills for Security.
Learners must be 18+, complete self-study (ACT training) and bring valid First Aid certification (within 3 months). Failure to complete ACT E-Learning and Self-Study workbooks before your course start date means you won’t be allowed to attend or be refunded.
You will need to bring on the first day:
1 x Passport quality Photograph
Government-issued Identification
Unit 1 – Working within the Private Security Industry
Unit 2 – Working as a CCTV Operator
Unit 3 – Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment
Multiple choice exams (externally set) and practical assessments via camera equipment operation and footage review. 100% pass required on practicals. Minimum 70% on theory.
Bring valid photo ID and 1 passport-style photo. Photocopies not accepted. See the list of acceptable documents below.
