How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake 35 hours of guided learning delivered over 5 days. This includes approximately 4hrs of First Aid at Work E-Learning which must be completed before attending the course. You will be enrolled at the time of booking and this is included in the course fee.

Total Qualification Time (TQT): 53 hours

Learners must complete all assessments within the registration period. Max period (including referrals): 20 weeks.

Qualification Overview

This qualification forms part of the QA Prehospital Care suite. Based on recommendations from:

• Resuscitation Council (UK)
• Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications
• The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh – Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC)

This course covers Level D of the FPHC Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) framework to prepare learners for real-world emergency care situations.

Endorsement: Endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Objective: To enable learners to gain the knowledge and skills to manage a range of prehospital emergency situations.

Qualification Structure

Includes 1 mandatory unit split into 3 components. Learners must pass all assessments to achieve certification.

Intended Audience: For those working in emergency services, healthcare, military, law enforcement, construction, energy and voluntary sectors.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training.
