Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is for individuals currently holding an SIA licence as a security officer who need to update their training to meet new qualification requirements effective from 1st April 2025.

Entry Requirements

You must be aged 18+ and hold a valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate meeting Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Certificates must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.

Self-Study and online ACT (Blue & Orange) E-Learning must be completed before the course start date. Certificates must be dated within 3 months (90 days) of the course start.

Important: If your ACT E-Learning and workbook are not completed before the course date, you will not be able to attend and no refund will be issued.

How long will it take?

Total qualification time is 9 hours, with 3 contact hours required in person (based on evidence of self-study).

• How to keep vulnerable people safe
• Understanding terror threats and the role of the security operative

Assessment Method

Includes 28-question e-assessment with a 71% pass mark and a 15-minute practical observation covering communication and search techniques.

ID Requirements

Valid government-issued photo ID and 1 x passport-style photo are required. Photocopies are not accepted.
